I'm not a developer. I'm a Director of R&D in the medical devices industry who owns a pool and got tired of spending every summer weekend Googling "how much muriatic acid for a 15,000 gallon pool."
"I spent more time researching pool chemicals than actually swimming. There had to be a better way."
So I used AI tools to build PoolBoy from scratch — no coding background, just a problem worth solving. It took a few months of evenings and weekends. The result is an app I actually use every week on my own pool in Massachusetts.
